Harpenden Cricket Club News story

10 Oct 2019

Just a little advance notice that the 2019 AGM of the club will be held on Monday 25 November 2019 at 7.30 for 8pm. The meeting will held in the Pavilion, Harpenden Common.

The last few AGM's have concentrated on the need to rebuild the Pavilion but, of course, the club successfully achieved a complete rebuild in time for the start of the 2019 season.  I think we all agree how fantastic it is to see how well the new pavilion works both as a place to enjoy cricket and as a social space.  It's also lovely to have a light, airy, warm and welcoming lounge and bar area.

The AGM this year will focus on our efforts to further enhance cricket at all levels of the club encompassing seniors, juniors and girls cricket.  We are one of the very few clubs that can field 6 Saturday league XI's with our 1st XI playing Premier league cricket which is the highest level of the recreational club game and our other XI's all playing a very respectable level of town and minor club cricket.  Our junior section is one of the largest in Hertfordshire and the growth of our girls section has been a real feature of recent years.

All this takes a huge amount of effort by the volunteers who run the club and the support of all members is essential in order to ensure that all of the club's achievements can be carried forward.  So come along to the AGM, express your views and support the club as it looks towards season 2020.  The formal agenda and papers will be circulated by email two weeks beofre the meeting.

Our excellent bar will be open and we look forward to seeing as many members as possible.

Best wishes,

Phil Waters - Secretary and Trustee on behalf of the Board of Trustees Harpenden CC.
