Cricket Update

15 May 2020

Dear Members

Following the recent Government announcements we can confirm that regrettably there will be no cricket played in the immediate future.

But we remain hopeful that it may still be possible to play a reduced Herts League season in the second half of the summer, possibly running well into September. Hertfordshire are holding discussions with all clubs on this matter and will in turn be guided by the ECB.

For juniors we are making preparations to run training programmes for all age groups just as soon as the Government gives approval for small numbers of non-family members to play together in a sports environment.

Once the position becomes clearer we will make further announcements.

We will also review the position on subscriptions and in particular those already received, for which we are most grateful. These subscriptions, along with grants from St Albans District Council and Sport England, will contribute in part to our on-going ground and pavilion expenses.

Finally we hope to be able to open the nets later this month in accordance with Government guidelines. More information will be sent in the next few days and will also be available on the club web site.

Best wishes
