Harpenden Cricket Club News story

Could you help us to expand our offering to our local youngsters in 2022?

30 Dec 2021

In 2021 Harpenden Cricket Club was proud to provide cricket for around 500 boys and girls. We’d love to do even more in 2022, but to do so, we need a bit of help.

We’re delighted that we have secured an extra pitch in Rothamsted Park for the use of junior teams. We have a new director of cricket in the form of Rupert Garrett. Scott Galloway, who will be a familiar face to many of you, continues in his role as director of junior cricket. But we need lots of volunteers to make sure we have enough adults to run training and matches both safely and effectively.

There are two ways in which you might like to support the Club:

1. Would you be prepared to volunteer to help with training, or helping with the administrative tasks involved with running a team, or undertaking the Foundation Cricket coaching course - this is intended for people with little or no knowledge of the game who would like to get involved?

 2. Could you help the Club by becoming a scorer, umpire, or even serving behind the bar? Perhaps you have older children (age 18 or over) who would like to earn some money from time to time. Again, the Club will provide training and cover the costs of any training courses that might be required.

If you would like to have a chat about supporting the club, please give me a call on 07852 923996, or email me, Mark Fordham, at markfordham165@gmail.com.

Really look forward to hearing from you, and sending you best wishes for 2022 from everyone at Harpenden Cricket Club.

 Best wishes

Mark Fordham
