The undoubted highlight of the 1st team’s 4-wicket victory over Broxbourne was a remarkable 8-wicket haul from Wellington’s finest Jesse Tashkoff. (Look out for a video interview with Jesse coming soon.) We’ll have to go through the record books to establish when was the last time a Harpenden bowler snared that many scalps in one innings. Usman Malik struck another half-century in our successful run chase:
Broxbourne: 177 all out off 57.5 overs (Tashkoff 8-45)
Harpenden: 179-6 off 30.3 overs (Usman Malik 63, Swanson 27)

The 2nd team fell a little short in attempting to chase down a 200+ target posted by West Herts 2s. Jack Doyle, Toby Bell and Sam Calladine did their bit with the ball, as did Jack and Ed Washington with the bat:
West Herts: 217-6 off 50 overs (Doyle 2-33, T Bell 2-48, Calladine 2-48)
Harpenden: 175 all out off 42.4 overs (Doyle 37, E Washington 35)

Having won their last match by 2 runs, the 3rd team lost agonisingly against Mill Hill Village by the same margin. Nick Reeves grabbed 4 wickets, Gareth Taylor and Dan Bradley struck half-centuries, and Harry Bradley had success with both bat and ball:
Mill Hill Village: 247 all out off 50 overs (Reeves 4-34, H Bradley 3-19)
Harpenden: 247 all out off 50 overs (G Taylor 77, D Bradley 52, H Bradley 33)

The Women’s 3rd team tied their match against Hitchin 2s:
Harpenden: 159-11 off 20 overs (Net Score 304) (E Gallagher 13)
Hitchin: 124-4 off 20 overs (Net Score 304) (J Karunaratne 2-18)

The 4th team got back to winning ways with a comfortable 108-run success over Redbourn 3s. Anuj Behl smashed an imperious ton (including 12 fours and 3 sixes) and Todd Baines scored a half-century of his own. The evergreen Mike Hughes then ripped the heart out of the oppo’s reply with a fine 5-fer:
Harpenden: 243-5 off 40 overs (Behl 107, Baines 50)
Redbourn: 135 all out off 33 overs (Hughes 5-23, M Umar 2-20)

The 5th team also refound the winning habit with an efficient 48-run victory over Leverstock Green 3s. The batters delivered an imposingly large total with Simon Arnold at the forefront with an excellent 86. Seasoned veterans Jon Taylor and Dave Talbot then struck six times between them with the ball to keep the oppo at arm’s length:
Harpenden: 263-7 off 40 overs (S Arnold 86, Cuppello 45)
Leverstock Green: 215-9 off 40 overs (J Taylor 3-35, Talbot 3-36)

The 6th team recovered from a seriously sticky position to post a defendable total thanks to a powerful half-century by Kit McGrandle. However, Chipperfield Clarendon 3s eased themselves to a comfortable 9-wicket victory:
Harpenden: 141 all out off 33.5 overs (K McGrandle 54)
Chipperfield Clarendon: 142-1 off 22 overs

The 7th team came off second best against Kings Langley 4s and went down by 9 wickets:
Harpenden: 69 all out off 18 overs (R Roberts 16)
