The club is on the look-out for qualified umpires or anyone who would like to become an umpire.
It's a wonderful opportunity to be at the heart of this great game. Michael Gough, one of the world's best international umpires, started his umpiring career at just 23.
For anyone new to umpiring, gaining qualifications is very straightforward. A couple of online courses and then a day's workshop is all it takes and the club will fund all of this.
We are looking for umpires for the club itself, and more excitingly, qualified umpires who want to become panel umpires in the Herts League, where you would officiate high standard cricket and be paid to do so.
This opportunity is in no way limited to HCC members, and is open to men and women.
If you are interested or would like to find out more please contact Mike Howard (mikey.howard@btinternet.com) or Simon Caunce (simon.caunce@gmail.com).
'As an umpire you have the best view in the house' Chris Marsden, 3rd team umpire.
