The 1st team completed a stunning 9-wicket victory over Welwyn Garden City. Andrew Neal and Ben Frazer were instrumental in bowling out the opposition for a sub-par score and then Jimmy Latham’s half-century and Scott Galloway’s magnificent 107 off only 61 balls saw us home within 18 overs:

The Women’s 1st team beat St Margaretsbury by 9 wickets. That makes it three wins out of three and they sit atop the Herts Prem. All of our 1st team are current or former County players:
St Margaretsbury: 109 all out off 33.3 overs (Whittle 4-13, Peel 3-24, Bates 2-5)
Harpenden: 110-1 off 18 overs (Dyer 46, Ruxton 42 not out)
The 2nd team found the going difficult against Lutonian, going down by 93 runs despite four wickets for Jack Doyle and runs from Nick Lamb and Mike Howard:
Lutonian: 291-8 off 50 overs (Doyle 4-52, Lamb 2-55)
Harpenden: 108 all out off 44.4 overs (Lamb 56, Howard 42)
Our Women’s 2nd team lost to Hitchin 2s by just 32 runs:
Hitchin: 121-2 off 20 overs (Baimforth 2-18)
Harpenden: 89-7 off 20 overs (Jo Karunaratne 24)
The 3rd team earned an incredibly tight 6-run victory over Watford Town 2s courtesy of a solid batting performance and cool-under-pressure bowling:
Harpenden: 226-8 off 50 overs (Francis 50, Yurkwich 45, G Taylor 42)
Watford Town: 220-8 off 50 overs (Dyson 3-30, Bhawan 2-23)
For the second week in a row the 4th team chased down a total, this time recording a 6-wicket victory over Hemel Hempstead 4s. The wickets were shared around the bowlers (we held eight catches in the process) and then an unbeaten half-century from Michael Voight saw us home. Toby Bell was excellent in the field:

Harpenden: 161-4 off 34.2 overs (Voight 66 not out, Behl 31)
The 5th team lost by 6 wickets to Old Albanians 2s:
Harpenden: 104 all out off 34.4 overs (Talbot 31)
Old Albanians: 105-4 off 30.1 overs (Zach Honan 2-19)
The 6th team pushed Boxmoor 3s hard but eventually lost by just 3 wickets:

Boxmoor: 124-7 off 30.1 overs (R Barcock 3-13, J Talley 2-31)
The 7th team lost to Wheathampstead 4s by 7 wickets despite a strong all-round performance from Amit Dam:

Wheathampstead 131-3 off 32.1 overs (Amit Dam 3-17)
Our Women’s softball team made their debut in the new Herts League, losing narrowly to a strong St Albans side.
