Huge congratulations to all concerned.
1st XI vs St Albans
The equation was simple — win and we would retain our Premiership title.
We lost the toss and were asked to bat, but started strongly and just kept accelerating. 110-1 at drinks became a commanding 257-2 at the close. Leading the way was Lizzie Ruxton with a fantastic 80 and she was supported by Hannah Stobbs, who hit 75* from 61 balls and Lottie May Taylor with 63* from just 41 balls.
In reply, St Albans started positively, but four quick wickets put them firmly behind the rate and they were eventually bowled out for 110 in 34.2 overs. Star of the show with the ball was Charlotte Banks, with an outstanding 5-16 from 7 overs.
So that’s BACK-TO-BACK PREMIERSHIP TITLES. And with a young, maturing squad, there is plenty more to come.
2nd XI vs Berkhamsted 2s
Having already secured the First Division title, our 2nd XI rounded off their League campaign against Berkhamsted 2s at St George’s. Two well-matched teams contested a low-scoring match. Harpenden reached 109 for 5 off 25 overs. Berkhamsted reached the total with 7 balls and three wickets to spare. Pick of the bowlers was Honey Wright with 2 for 11.
3rd XI vs Radlett
Radlett had conceded the league fixture due to a shortage of players, but thankfully we were still able to play a friendly — and it turned into a fantastic game. Harpenden made a competitive 154-6, before Radlett chased it down with just three balls to spare.
