Our Women’s 1st team clinches the inaugural Herts Premiership title; our 4th team secures promotion

Ben Frazer with a century and 4 wickets; half-centuries for Hincks, Howard senior, Farr, Mitchell, Behl (again!); 4-fers from Gosling and Smith

Massive congratulations to our Women’s 1st team who beat Ampthill Town by 51 runs and in the process claimed the very first Premiership title of the Herts Women’s Cricket League. They have done the club proud:
Harpenden: 120-8 off 20 overs
Ampthill Town: 69-6 off 20 overs

The 1st team somehow managed to defend a small total to defeat North Mymms by 41 runs. Alex Gosling took 4 wickets:
Harpenden: 136 all out off 40.4 overs (Galloway 46)
North Mymms: 95 all out off 29.2 overs (Gosling 4-19, Calladine 3-12)

The 2nd team dismantled Berkhamsted by 189 runs. Not content with scoring a century (off just 74 balls, containing ten 4s and five 6s), Ben Frazer then took 4 wickets. Aidan Hincks and Mike Howard scored half-centuries:
Harpenden: 308-9 off 50 overs (Frazer 103, Hincks 55, Howard 50, Pankhurst 47)
Berkhamsted: 119 all out off 21.4 overs (Frazer 4-47, Vidhya 3-23)

The Women’s 2nd team lost by 35 runs to Tring Park:
Tring Park: 120-7 off 20 overs
Harpenden: 85 all out off 19.4 overs

The 3rd team were in quite a strong position before their game against Sandridge was abandoned due to rain. Henry Farr and Greg Mitchell scored half-centuries:
Harpenden: 211 all out off 49.3 overs (Farr 62, Mitchell 50)
Sandridge: 62-4 off 19 overs (Bissett 3-37)

The 4th team secured their promotion from Division 8 West with their tenth victory on the bounce, beating Rickmansworth 3s by 35 runs. Anuj Behl scored his sixth half-century of a prolific season:
Harpenden: 192-5 off 40 overs (Behl 69, Newton 34)
Rickmansworth: 157 all out off 34.1 overs (Hussain 3-44, Hughes 3-45)

The 5th team’s game against Sandridge 2s was abandoned but not before Benji Smith took 4 wickets and struck 29 not out:
Sandridge: 192-8 off 40 overs (Smith 4-28)
Harpenden: 78-5 off 19 overs (Smith 29 not out)

The 6th team lost to Bushey 3s by 7 wickets:
Harpenden: 70 all out off 21 overs
Bushey: 74-3 off 13.2 overs

The 7th team lost to Hitchin 6s by 185 runs:
Hitchin: 251-7 off 37.1 overs
Harpenden: 66 all out off 27.5 overs
