Plenty of our Men’s teams go out with a bang

4th team win eleventh game in a row; a 6-fer from Pat Bissett; century from Ben Grimberg; half-centuries from Behl, HPB, Holland, Howard junior

Yesterday was the last round of Men’s Senior League fixtures. A season review will follow in due course but for now here are the result summaries.

The 1st team were narrowly squeezed out by just 1 wicket by West Herts:
Harpenden: 168 all out off 45.2 overs (Mumford 49)
West Herts: 171-9 off 42.5 overs

The 2nd team lost to St Albans by 6 wickets:
Harpenden: 98 all out off 32.2 overs
St Albans: 99-4 off 20.1 overs

The 3rd team skittled out Hoddesdon cheaply courtesy of Pat Bissett’s splendid 6-fer and then comfortably knocked off the runs to stroll to an 8-wicket victory:
Hoddesdon: 55 all out off 17.2 overs (Bissett 6-15)
Harpenden: 57-2 off 8.4 overs

The 4th team registered their eleventh consecutive victory by beating Pinner 2s by 55 runs. Guess what? Anuj Behl struck yet another half-century. Skipper Mike Hughes chipped in with 3 wickets:
Harpenden: 190-7 off 40 overs (Behl 57, Hussain 35 not out)
Pinner: 135 all out off 38.2 overs (Hughes 3-11)

The 5th team posted a monstrous target of more than 300 against Flitwick 4s. Ben Grimberg struck a fine unbeaten century and there were half-centuries from Henry Pollard-Beeton, Cam Holland and Joss Howard. A comfortable 170-run victory was the inevitable consequence:
Harpenden: 310-5 off 40 overs (B Grimberg 107 not out, Pollard-Beeton 70, Holland 55, J Howard 53)
Flitwick: 140-4 off 40 overs

The 6th team lost to Hemel Hempstead Town 5s by 5 wickets:
Harpenden: 87 all out off 33.4 overs
Hemel Hempstead Town: 88-5 off 19.4 overs

The 7th team lost to Arkley by 5 wickets:
Harpenden: 152 all out off 40 overs (Kapil Singhal 36, Elledge 34)
Arkley: 156-5 off 29.1 overs
