The 1st team won yet again, this time a rain-affected, rather nail-biting victory by 3 runs against Radlett. Andrew Neal and Scott Galloway posted half-centuries and Liam Dudding took 3 wickets:

The Women’s 1st team beat Broxbourne by 42 runs. The runs in our imposing total came very largely from Liz Ruxton, Jenna-May Botha and Millie Dyer:

The 4th team’s victory against Berkhamsted 3s was dominated by a quite remarkable unbeaten century by Michael Voigt (I didn’t realise there was no ‘h’ in his surname until he told me in the dressing-room after the game – sorry, Mike). Youngsters Cameron Holland and Tom Harvey each took 2 wickets. Then Voigty’s knock accounted for a whopping 78% of the runs we needed to claim victory. He powered twelve 4s and seven 6s in a swashbuckling but highly intelligent display of batting:
Berkhamsted: 169-7 off 40 overs (Harvey 2-26, Holland 2-35)
Harpenden: [revised target 153 off 36 overs] 153-8 off 28.2 overs (Voigt 120 not out)
The 5th team had their game against Chorleywood 3s cut short by the weather but not before Rich Bailey and Matt Smith had scored half-centuries:
Harpenden: 159-4 off 31.3 overs (Bailey 57, Smith 54)
The 6th team’s game against Berkhamsted 4s was cancelled without a ball being bowled.
The 7th team went down by 9 wickets to Knebworth Park 4s. Steven and Sach Jallport both scored runs again:

Knebworth Park: 106-1 off 9.5 overs
