Another highly successful weekend for our senior sides

The 1st team made it two out of two with a 30-run victory over Bishop’s Stortford 1s in a high-scoring encounter. Cole Briggs struck 102 from just 78 balls:
Harpenden: 344-6 off 50 overs (Briggs 102, Latham 65, Neal 58 not out)
Bishop’s Stortford: 314-7 off 50 overs (Neal 3-44)

The 2nd team enjoyed another comfortable win, this time by 8 wickets, at home to Eversholt:
Eversholt: 58 all out off 17 overs (Downes 4-32, Fernando 3-13)
Harpenden: 59-2 off 14 overs

The 3rd team kept up the momentum with an 84-run success over Holtwhites-Trinibis 2s. Bryn Luffman scored an amazing 141 not out:
Harpenden: 331-5 off 50 overs (Bryn Luffman 141 not out, Sambrook 66, Newton 48)
Holtwhites-Trinibis: 246 all out off 49.4 overs (Atkinson 3-42, Vidya 2-49)

The 4th team put another ‘W’ in the column with a narrow 25-run success in a low-scoring affair away at Pinner 2s:
Harpenden: 146-9 off 40 overs (Voight 43)
Pinner: 121 all out off 37.3 overs (Petrie 4-23, Pollard-Beeton 3-24, Barcock 2-19)

Despite bowling well, the 5th team lost by 80 runs to Old Camdenians 2s:
Old Camdenians: 135 all out off 38 overs (Jamie Karunaratne 3-25, Smith 3-26)
Harpenden: 55 all out off 26.5 overs

The 6th team recorded a second consecutive victory by comprehensively beating Wheathampstead 4s by 9 wickets:
Wheathampstead: 116-5 off 40 overs (Jim Gill 2-15)
Harpenden: 117-1 off 24.3 overs (Kalathil 59, Dunham 48 not out)

The Wizards did brilliantly to beat a St Albans CC team by 5 wickets:
St Albans: 73 all out off 21.1 overs (Harvey 2-10, Gittins 2-10, Lapwood 2-12, Harry Field 2-24)
Harpenden: 74-5 off 18.5 overs (Lapwood 28)

On Sunday the women’s 1st team shared the spoils in a double-header versus Stony Stratford, winning one game by 9 wickets and losing the other by 34 runs:
Game 1:
Stony Stratford: 135-5 off 20 overs (Ahlowia 2-11)
Harpenden: 136-1 off 13.2 overs (Bell 54 not out)
Game 2:
Stony Stratford: 154-7 off 20 overs (Vallat 3-33)
Harpenden 120-9 off 18.3 overs (Dyer 53)
