The 4th team’s recent excellent record continued with an emphatic 9-wicket defeat of Dunstable Town 3s. Returning from injury, James Driscoll helped himself to a 4-wicket haul before huge knocks from Anuj Behl and Ben Newton saw us coast over the line with ease:
Dunstable Town: 189-9 off 40 overs (Driscoll 4-32, Hussain 2-35)
Harpenden: 191-1 off 29 overs (Behl 89, Newton 75 not out)
The 5th team got themselves back into the winning habit, dispatching Chipperfield Clarendon 2s by 83 runs. Fine innings from youngsters Finn Sellers [pictured] and Joss Abbott-Chambers (Finn with a half-century and Joss falling just one run short of his own) ensured we posted an imposing total. Then, with the ball, Jude Jackson and Ravi Chittimalla struck seven times between them to skittle out the oppo well short of their target:
Harpenden: 219-7 off 40 overs (Sellers 63, Abbott-Chambers 49)
Chipperfield Clarendon: 136 all out off 32.5 overs (Jackson 4-27, Chittimalla 3-30)
The 6th team proved that they have established the winning habit with a 4-wicket victory over Abbots Langley 4s. Tom Buckley and Sachin Jallport both scored half-centuries in a comfortable run chase:

The 7th team batted well to post a competitive total against Pinner 4s, with Rory Saunders scoring a 50, but couldn’t prevent the oppo from winning by 5 wickets:
