The Huskies U13A team secured a solid victory against Bishops Stortford in the league semi-final, showing true grit and determination at fortress St George’s. The match had an added edge as Bishops Stortford had beaten the Huskies in the cup on Monday, but this time, the Huskies were prepared and ready to turn the tables.

Losing the toss, the Huskies were put into bat first, exactly as they had planned! The opening pair, Hannah and Lily, set the tone for the game with a blistering start. Hannah, in particular, was in scintillating form, punishing the Bishops Stortford attack with her aggressive batting. As the innings progressed, scoring runs became increasingly difficult, but the Huskies batted with discipline, focusing on minimising wickets lost and taking runs when opportunities arose.

The innings concluded with the Huskies posting a competitive total of 90/4, a commendable effort under the circumstances.

Taking to the field, the Huskies demonstrated the lessons learned from their previous encounter. Their bowling was tight, and their fielding was sharp, ensuring they maintained control throughout Bishops Stortford's innings. The disciplined bowling attack and some brilliant fielding saw the Huskies take eight wickets, restricting the opposition and maintaining their dominance.

In the end, the Huskies clinched victory by a substantial margin of 48 runs, a testament to their hard work and strategic approach. This win not only avenged their previous defeat but also propelled them into the league final.

The entire squad's dedication and effort have been rewarded with a place in the final against Berkhamsted on Sunday. With one last push, the Huskies are determined to bring home the trophy.

Onwards to Berkhamsted, Huskies! Let's finish the season on a high note.
